I got tagged for a “25 Things” list on facebook. Usually I start these, get bored, and just never repost the note, but I kind of liked mine. So, not only did this make it to facebook, but it got posted here, as well. :)

1. Google Calendar has significantly improved my life.

If God exists, He should seriously do something about Pat Robertson. If you haven’t heard yet, he recently said that the earthquake in Haiti was a direct result of Haiti’s “pact with the Devil.”

Sooo… I figured I would take this opportunity to vent about how much I hate Pat Robertson. :D

New Year’s Resolutions

1. GRADUATE COLLEGE! I might actually be finished by the end of this year… if I bust ass. We’ll see how this goes. (Worst case scenario, I could finish in March of 2011.)

2. Go to Philadelphia. Investigate life outside Charlotte. Maybe find an apartment.

3. Return to my normal weight. Decrease puffiness. Maybe be able to buy bras in a normal store. (Doubt that last part.)

We can work on my other vices next year. I think this is enough. :)

Google Chrome

Google FINALLY released Chrome for Mac this week. You would think I would wait longer to write a review. Really, normally, I would. But Chrome is extremely simple, meaning that there isn’t all that much to review. It’s faster than Firefox, not very customizable, and I like the omnibox. The end.

Okay, not the end. There are a lot of nice things to say about Chrome. The omnibox is weirdly intuitive. Incognito mode is great for porn. The new tab page is fantastic, because it gives us visual people a thumbnail of what we usually want to see. (Another reason incognito mode is great for porn – the pages you access won’t show up on your new tab page.)

One thing that Chrome does lack is something we all love – customization options. There are plenty of themes to make your browser window prettier, but really no other add-ons to speak of. The most you can do to your toolbar is hide or show your settings button, and hide or show your bookmarks bar. Boo. At least let us organize things for ourselves, Google people.

Creative needs aside, I love Chrome. It’s fast, it’s sleek, it’s simple. It’s definitely worth a try. If you’re like me, you might even set it as your default browser. :D

Gmail workarounds for BlackBerry

Anybody else with a BlackBerry get extremely annoyed with the way your phone and Gmail inboxes do NOT mesh properly? I fixed mine. Here’s how.

If you do NOT use the Facebook app…

Step 1: Download Google Mobile, install Gmail for BlackBerry, and set up your email address and password. (Do not even think about skipping this step.)

Step 2: Go to your phone’s Setup Wizard and find your email settings. REMOVE your Gmail account. Your phone will start running your email through your Google apps rather than through your regular messaging stuff.

Done. :)

If you DO use the Facebook app…

Step 1: Download Google Mobile, install Gmail for BlackBerry, and set up your email address and password. (Do not even think about skipping this step.)

Step 3: Get online. Create a secondary email account (forwarding to your primary email account is optional, though I highly recommend it). Change your Facebook settings so that this is the email address where you receive notifications.

Step 4: Use the phone’s Setup Wizard to set up your new secondary email account as the email account linked with your BlackBerry.

Step 5: Go to your Gmail settings (I’m assuming that you are using Gmail) and find the Filters tab. Add a filter for messages from Facebook – set the filter up so that the messages are archived (bypassing the inbox completely). This will prevent you from having to SEE these messages on your phone, but will keep your Facebook app updating properly.

Step 6: If you are forwarding emails from your new account to your primary account, you will need to repeat Step 5.

Done! You can now receive Gmail into a nifty (and much prettier) inbox on your phone, prevent yourself from being bombarded by messages that you’ve already read, and keep the Facebook app running properly. Take that, clunky UI. :D

So, I live in Charlotte. And not only do I live in Charlotte, but my life is full of gay men, lesbians, and general genderfuckers. You would think that by now I would have been to Scorpios, but until Saturday this was NOT the case.

Blair and Ryan took me. I was… a little surprised.

Top 5 Reasons I Didn’t “Fit-in” at Scorpios

1. My clothes fit

2. I was not heavily armed

3. I showered that day

4. I dance with parts of my body besides just the pelvis

5. My clothes fit

Otherwise it was fun. :) I highly doubt I’ll ever go on a Saturday again, though. Word is there are much… uh… classier nights.
